Hourglass dolphins are a very small species of dolphin that live throughout the entire South Pole up to the lower shores of Chile and New Zealand. They are easily identifiable by their black and white colorations which earns them the nicknames of “sea cow” and “sea skunk”. Based on the little research conducted on these animals, they seem to dive to the very bottom of the ocean in search of mantis shrimp and worms to eat. Like all other dolphins, it detects its prey by use of echolocation.
