Paradise flying snakes, along with the other snakes in the genus Chrysopelea, are snakes with a unique trick up their sleeve. To cover more ground in less time to escape predators or catch prey, they can glide for up to 100 m! They do this by jumping, flattening their bodies vertically (creating a parachute-like surface), and undulating their bodies to stay airborne. This aids them greatly in catching food that lives high in the canopy of forests in southeastern Asia.
