Bubble-Tip Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor)

Bubble-tip anemones exist in many shapes and colors making them very popular in the aquarium trade. It gets its name because it’s tentacles occasionally get inflated with water, making the tips appear bulbous and bubble-like. Their tentacles are also frequently used as a protective shelter by species of anemonefish like the clown fish. The sessile adult form pictured here is known as a “polyp”.
