Moon Jelly (Aurelia aurita)

The moon jelly is a common member of the Cnidaria family that lives in most of the world’s oceans. As a generalist, it can survive in temperatures ranging between 6-31 degrees Celsius and salinities as low as 6 parts per thousand. Its free floating adult form pictured here is known as a “medusa”.
